Dear teachers and students:

On the ground of the Pre-Notice on Participation in the 8th China University Students’ ‘Internet Plus’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition issued by the Dean’s Office on March 8, 2022, the Selection Competition in the School of Civil Engineering was launched to stimulate students’ enthusiasm and build an atmosphere of innovation and entrepreneurship on campus. The details are notified as follows:

I. Objective

Exhibit more Chinese elements, focus more on the global arena, and improve education with a more multi-faceted and innovative vision.

II. Overall arrangements

The 8th China University Students’ ‘Internet Plus’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition will be held from April to October, 2022.

1. Registration starts from April 2022;

2. School-level preliminary rounds and university finals (April - May 2022);

3. The provincial-level competitions (August 2022);

4. The on-site final competition (late October 2022).

III. Registration for the School-level Selection Competition

Registration: Entrants for this year’s competition should register online(each team leader shall organize the team to complete online national competition registration).The national competition platform registration: Participating teams can register through either the “National Students’ Entrepreneurship Service Website” (website: cy.ncss.cn) or the official WeChat accounts (“National Students Entrepreneurship Service Website” or “China University Students’ ‘Internet Plus’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition”). The student guide for the registration can be downloaded in the materials downloading section and the official WeChat accounts can be reached for competition consultation.

1) Formal registration in School of Civil Engineering: Each school is in charge of its own registration. Entrants shall download and fill in Appendix 1 “Registration Sheet of the 8th China University Students’ ‘Internet Plus’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Southwest Jiaotong University Selection Competition (main track)” and Appendix 2 “Summary Registration Sheet of the 8th China University Students’ ‘Internet Plus’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Southwest Jiaotong University Selection Competition (main track)”. The two sheets shall be emailed to 912950915@qq.com by April 20, 2022,and only when both of them are sent successfully, will the registration be accepted.

Entrants for the “Youth Red Dream Building Journey” shall download and fill in Appendix 3 “Registration Sheet of the 8th China University Students’ ‘Internet Plus’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Southwest Jiaotong University Selection Competition (Youth Red Dream Building Journey)” and Appendix 4 “Summary Registration Sheet of the 8th China University Students’ ‘Internet Plus’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Southwest Jiaotong University Selection Competition (Youth Red Dream Building Journey)”. The two sheets shall be emailed to lijianghuai@my.swjtu.edu.cn by April 20, 2022,and only when both of them are sent successfully, will the registration be accepted.

Main Track:Each school (department) will recommend a list of school-level winners by 5% of the number of entries (less than one group will be counted as one group). School-level gold, silver, and bronze awards will be granted in a ratio of 1:2:3. The school-level gold and silver award winners will participate in the university-level final competition.

Red Dream Building:Each school sets the school-level awards according to the actual registration entries and recommends 1-2 teams for the university-level final competition.

3) Submission of entrants’ materials

A business plan, as well as the necessary work instructions and a roadshow PowerPoint. The work instructions shall include a brief introduction of the participating teams (introduction of the supervisor and team members), the core content of the business plan, additional explanations of the core technologies, etc.

The teams should send the materials for the school-level selection competition to 912950915@qq.com by April 20, the zipped files should be named “Team XX’s project for the preliminary competition in School of Civil Engineering-(Name of the team leader)-(Contact details of the team leader)”. For better communication, please join in the 8th China University Students’ ‘Internet Plus’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in Southwest Jiaotong University QQ Group: 1018925047 (please change your names in the format of “name” plus “project name”).

To select more quality winning projects, the number of recommendations for Gold and Silver Awards at the school level may be increased as appropriate for schools that have won Gold Awards in provincial competitions in previous sessions. For particularly outstanding projects, the school may raise the recommendation ratio as appropriate.

IV. Requirements for Projects Entered

1. Projects are not confined to the “Internet” projects. All kinds of innovative and entrepreneurial projects are encouraged to be submitted and participants are advised to choose the appropriate type according to their background.

2. Students are encouraged to form teams across different schools and the project will be attributed to the team leader’s school. All projects submitted by teams must be planned or operated by the team and cannot be copied from other teams.

3. Projects that have won the Gold or Silver Awards in the National Finals in previous sessions are not eligible this year. Other previous projects are still eligible for this year’s competition.

4. The projects must be actual, ethical, legal, and free of harmful information, and shall aim to promote positive energy in praise of the core socialist value.
