Teachers of the School of Civil Engineering (SCE) and the School of Transportation and Logistics (STL) participated in the online seminar launched by the National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia (BRIN). The seminar was organized to achieve in-depth bilateral cooperation and communication in the field of transportation under the support of the program of the China-Indonesia Joint Research Center on High-speed Railway Technology.

The seminar started with the welcome address made by Ph.D. Haznan Abimanyu, who is the head of BRIN energy and production research center. Then he gave a brief introduction to the organizational structure and research fields of the BRIN.

Yi Fanping, counselor for scientific and technological affairs of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Indonesia was also present at the online meeting. He gave full acknowledgements to the joint research center for facilitating the technological and cultural communication between the two countries. He also highlighted the great potential in technological cooperation under sound bilateral ties.

Ph.D. Aam Muharam, who is the head of the transportation technology research center of BRIN, introduced the major technological and research facilities and some recent research subjects of the BRIN. And he introduced the policies on visiting scholars and ways to apply for technological programs in Indonesia.

Associate Professor Zhang Yanyang of the SCE introduced the progress of the programs at the China-Indonesia Joint Research Center on High-Speed Railway Technology. She also gave an introduction to the prospective diploma (undergraduate and postgraduate degrees) and non-diploma (undergraduate and postgraduate exchange students)cooperation between the two sides,policies on research cooperation, joint application for international projects, and reciprocal visits of SWJTU.

The seminar was concluded with academic reports related to transportation and logistics fields given by Professor Liu Tao, Associate Professors Ge Qianfu, Associate Professors Yang Hongtai, and Associate Professors Jiang Chaozhe of SWJTU. And Ph.D. Dwi Phalita Upahita and two engineers Annissa Roschyntawati and Asep Yayat Nurhidayat from BRIN also gave academic reports on the fields.

The online seminar is a major event of the China-Indonesia Joint Research Center on High-Speed Railway Technology which aims to further promote innovative cooperation in transportation between SWJTU and BRIN.
